English is known as the most popular international language. Many people use English for their studying, their businesses, their communications… So all members in my family learn English as the second language, either do I. Luckily, I have learned English since I was very young.
First of all, I was known it before I speak Vietnamese. Because when I was a baby, mommy and daddy were always busy with their business. Moreover, I stayed at home, played game with my cousins. They were very older than I was. At that time, they wanted to improve their English skills to find good jobs. They might wanted to get good marks at school. So they always talked English with me. Oh my God! I did not understand anything. But I could repeat as a parrot. I could not tell the difference English and Vietnamese. I talked both of them in one sentence. Indeed, most of my conversations repeated members of my family. I always made them laugh a lot because of my babble.
Later, they quickly got good jobs. They went to company and were busy with their jobs. I stayed at home with my grandpa. He does not like it that I talked English (maybe I made him difficult to understand what I want!). He said that Chinese is the most popular language over the world. So he thought my parents needed to find Chinese baby sitter who can teach me Chinese. Unfortunately (or fortunately??? Hihi), they could not find a person who likes that. Then my grandpa took care of me. He showed me how to differentiate between Vietnamese and English. After that, I only speak Vietnamese. The main reasons that I am Vietnamese and I love my grandpa very much. I thought that if I talked English, he would be unhappy.
When I was old enough for school, I studied primary English at preschool. It was easy for me to repeat. I just repeated and continued misunderstanding anything. Hik. My teachers told that I was very very bad in English. Because I could not translate simple English words to Vietnamese. I only knew what it was and pointed out it for them. Ack. I told what my teachers said with my cousins. Thus, they angry with my teachers. I do not care about that. I just cared I have many friends at preschool and I could swim, played games, sang a song, hide and seek with my friends. That is enough!
To carry on, studying English in primary school is easier. It is the same lesson, which I had studied at preschool. My English teacher said that I was very good at English subject. Hihi. They made me surprise. It was the first time I have heard a good comment from my English teacher. But… I forgot it quickly. I thought English subject is the most boring subject at school. We always wrote and repeated these new English words again, again, and again. I am an impatient pupil. I would rather do something that makes me curious than keep doing the samething for a long time. At that time, many friends went to extra English classes to improve English. Their parents prepared for their future really soon. However, I stayed at home and studied Maths subject, which I like best. Sometimes my father must go on a business trip. Thus, I must go to English class with mommy. It was the first time I have taken part in the class which has a foreign teacher. Absolutely, I did not understand. I just sat there and listened to her. When everybody in classes did exercises, Srhonda came to me and asked me some simple questions or gave me picture books to read&paint. Firstly, I thought it is so exciting class. After a short time, I feel bored with doing the same things. I wish my daddy had qickly came back home and I continued staying at home with him.
Later, I graduated primary school. At secondary school, my English teachers complained about my vocabulary, my grammar, my reading… I try to patient, to do things that I hate to do for a long time. After that, I was better and got good marks. That is enough! I do not mean to study to gain good marks. On the other hand, I could not stand in English subject. I was not interested in English. Hik. Suddenly, daddy telephoned me and asked my English certificate. Ack. What will certificate my English level? My cousins suppose that I have to take part in an extra class, which lead me to B grade. Oh my God! All members in family are more confident than I am. I could not imagine what I did in that class. It seems very higher than my level. Hik. But I MUST to go to B class as I go to the hell. And then, one times, two times… step by step, I recognized that it is not difficult like I though about. I studied 2months and passed B English certificate when I was grade 8. Actually, it is multiple-choice test, so I could guess new words I did not know and did it with my reflex.(However, I have not known how I could do the listening test very good in that morning!?!?) Though I got B level, I know that I have many grammatical mistakes! Ack! My grammar has many gaps! Huhu.
…………………………………………………………………
In this summer holidays, I have taken part in two English classes in The Youth Foreign Language School(viet vay dung ko at???!) such as Grammar class and Listening & Speaking class. Both of them are useful for me. Grammar class improves my grammar. It maybe can fill some of my gaps (nhiu lem! Fill hong het dau! Hehee). Everything is good except their slow teaching speed. Beside that, Listening & Speaking class is good, too. It makes me a strong impression in the way teacher teach & the teacher’s manner. I have learnt too much in class… … Mommy prefers professional knowledge than public topic. Nevertheless, I would rather public topic than professional topic. I can use it for my reality life. Sometimes I am very interested in thinking of presenters. Therefore, I have more occasions to think about myself.
In the conclusion, I will tell you that this is not essay. Keke. Therefore, it need not the conclusion. Hihi
